auto feed trimmer not “feeding”?

Written By: Weed Eater Guy - Dec• 09•16

I just bought a weed-eater brand 15′ corded electric string trimmer. It came with a pre-wound spool of line. The auto feed button does release line when pushed, but not during trimming. When I stop the trimmer, I hear the button disengage, and some line feeds out. I’m assuming it somehow works with centrifugal force, but how do I get the line to feed without stopping the trimmer? It ISN’T a “bump and feed” type of trimmer.

See if there are any suggestions in the owner’s manual. Otherwise, I would take it back to the store you bought hoping you have the receipt.

I hate you weed wacker. Auto feed never works. I have to feed the line every two minutes. Why is this?

Because ALL these auto feed line trimmers are JUNK. Get the time tested Bump Feed type. You’ll bre glad you did.
