Question by : My grass trimmer won’t go idle?
I bought a new gas powered 2 cycle trimmer and after starting the engine up the part with the threads keeps spinning even if i dont pull the trigger, and when i do pull it, it just spins even faster. Any ideas?

Did you put the choke back in after starting? Also, strimmers sometimes spin faster when one of the bits of plastic has broken off.

It’s normal for the cutter head to spin when idling unless it’s blocked by something. Touch the head to the ground during idle and the head should stop spinning. If it doesn’t, reduce the idle speed adjustment on the carbureter.
