She couldnt control it. She was eating when it happened, which made it impossible to hold her fork. Is this normal? She works with her hands a lot and had just been using a weedeater earlier in the day.

Sounds like a muscle spasm, similar to a charlie horse.

Without knowing any other prior medical history its hard to really say. If she does work with her hands alot then it could be a version of carpal tundrel syndrome.

It could also be a reaction to stress. Severe axniety attacks can elevate oxygen levels in the blood while reducing CO2. This can cause muscle cramps and painful paralysis of the extremities. But she would have to already have a history with anxiety and she would have had signs of other symptoms too.

That happens to me sometimes. I sweat a lot on my job and lose my minerals, started taking magnesium and it stopped. The vibrations from the weedeater probably did it for her, my back gets cramped up from using it too long.
